La Plage Goa is one of the best places to eat in the city. Located on Ashwem beach and hidden behind the palms, La Plage offers a relaxed and casual tropical setting.
Often described by the firangs as the Club 55 of hippy-dippy north Goa, La Plage is packed with dreadlocked brunettes wearing bindis and low waisted, long skirts. It’s got an Anglo vibe without losing the Indian soul. There’s also a small little shop at La Plage Goa where you can buy beachy kaftans with Indian motifs and some other funky stuff as well.
La Plage Goa Menu
The La Plage menu has excellent French food options as well as comforting burgers and grills. La Plage Goa owners are three old friends, and the restaurant was conceived in 2003 and has transformed since then from its humble 6 table shack beginnings into a must-visit destination for any food-lover visiting Goa.
Try the fresh fruit cocktails, the warm tiger prawn carpaccio, the crispy sardine fillets with parsley, pine nuts, and lime zest; or the sesame-crusted tuna fillet with wasabi mashed potatoes and soy sauce. Finish the meal with their famous ‘chocolate thali’, a sampler of their sweetest offerings.
La Plage Reservation
Though they mention about prior reservations but there has hardly been any occasion when we were not able to secure a table. There might have been a 5 minute waiting time. Although, dinner reservations are essential in the months of December and January and also if you’re planning to eat there in a large group. La Plage Goa contact number is given below for reservations. They do not have an official website but you can check out their facebook page here.
